President and General Manager

Barry Ogden is the General Manager and President of the Seawolves football team.  He started the concept of the Atlantic Football League in 2003 and founded the team as well as the League in 2009.  He also lead the charge to refurbish the Canada Games Stadium.  He is an active social entrepreneur and has coached and organized in the Saint John area for over 45 years.  Contact him at (506) 333-4612 or

Head Coach

Nathan Gorham joined the Seawolves as Head Coach for the 2016 season.  After playing high school football at Riverview High, he went on to play collegiate football with the St. Francis Xavier X-Men and the Queen’s Golden Gaels.  He practices as lawyer in Toronto as well as in the Saint John area, where he lives with his family.  Contact him at (506) 644-8714 or at

Defensive Coordinator

Robert Fox is entering his second season with the Seawolves as defensive coordinator.  Before coaching, he played for Saint John high school and then continued on with the Seawolves from the team’s inception until 2014.   He was named the Seawolves’ most valuable player in three consecutive seasons.  He continues to play tackle football with the Saint John Wanderers.  He can be contacted at (506) 647-8939 or


Defensive Line/Linebackers

Matt Porter has a wealth of football experience both as a player and a coach.  After a successful high school football career, he went on to play with the Seawolves for five years as well the Saint John Wanderers–earning several championships in the process.  He continues to play with the Wanderers and, in addition to coaching with the Seawolves, he is an assistant coach with the Saint John High “Hounds”.

Special teams/Defense

Philip Reid is inducted into the Saint Francis Xavier Sports Hall of Fame, having been a member a the 1996 X-Men Football team that competed in the Vanier Cup.  Coach Reid grew up in Saint John, played high school football at Simmonds High School, then went on to play Rugby in the Canada Games and football for the Saint Francis Xavier X-Men.  He joins the Wolves in 2017 to coach special teams and to assist with the defence.  He currently lives in Saint John where he works for Irving Oil as a Applications Architect.

Offensive Line

Bazin Kern joined the Seawolves in the 2017 season.  He is a native of Saint John, and brings a tremendous amount of playing and coaching experience to the team.  He was a member of the UNB Redmen football team, when it competed in USPORTS.  After finishing his playing career, he coached various football teams in the Saint John area where he lived and worked with the Canada Revenue Agency.

Director of Football Operations

Dan Kirk joined the Seawolves as Director of Football Operations in 2017.  Now retired from Exxon Mobile, where he held various managerial positions, Mr. Kirk brings a wealth of leadership and managerial experience to the Seawolves football team.


Jordan Tracey joined the team as receivers coach in 2017.  He played five years with the team and was President of the UNBSJ Student Union Association.
